This elegant Joe Frazier Autographed Plaque is 15" x 12" and made with an awesome 8x10 photo of Joe in the press room after THE "THRILLA and a super deluxe engraved plate. "Smokin Joe" was a professional boxer for 12 years between 1965 and 1981. Joe fought in the ring 37 times in his professional career where he was 32-4-1, and finished the match with a knockout in 27 of those 32 wins. As an amateur fighter, Joe was seen to become a great fighter, as he displayed his potential at the 1964 Summer Olympics where he won the Gold medal. Frazier turned Pro the following year and quickly worked his way through fighters, winning fight after fight. By the end of the 1960's, Joe remained undefeated with a record of 24-0 and had worked his way to the #1 Contender spot for the World Boxing Heavyweight Championship. He would face Jerry Ellis for the title in Madison Square Garden, in which he would win after knocking Jerry down twice in the fourth round. He then would face the great Muhammadf Ali in the "Fight of the Century." Muhammad and Joe at the time had a combined record of 57-0 and was the first meeting ever between two undefeated heavyweight champions. The event would go the full 15 rounds, where Muhammad took control early before Joe took over during the middle-late rounds. Joe won by unanimous decision and retained his belt. Frazier would retain the belt for two more fights before he faced George Foreman. Foreman was much bigger than Frazier as Joe got knocked down 6 times in 2 rounds before they called the fight due to TKO. Joe had lost, and he would lose only to Foreman and Ali in his career, who both beat Joe on two seperate occasions. Joe retired after his second fight with Foreman in 1976. Joe came back in 1981 for one more fight before putting the gloves down for good.
