Over the years we have been priviledged to have worked with retired 49er Joe Perry. Joe died today at 84 years old. Our fondest memory of Joe was working with him when we had all living 49er Hall of Fame players from the 49ers sign 500 helmets in 2000. Joe Perry was always very polite, smiling and promoting his famous "million dollar backfield." The atmosphere that day was more like a family of great friends instead of football players. Known for taking off so fast in the backfield, Joe was nicknamed "The Jet." Joe Perry will be missed.

The San Francisco Giants World Series Gold Ring Ceremony Authentic Jerseys ($199-219) are one of the most beautiful MLB baseball jerseys ever produced. A great sports collectible and sports memorabilia jersey is being produced for the World Series Champion San Francisco Giants to wear on April 9th. The SF Giants will be receiving their World Series rings on this Saturday after the opening home game the night before. The special jersey will be the home ivory jersey with a special gold material for the numbers. In addition the San Francisco Giants and World Series Champion combination patch will be sewn on the jersey as well. These jerseys are extremely limited and some remaining inventory is available at National Sports Distributors.

The Super Bowl should attract a lot of fans with two traditional teams in the Super Bowl this year! The Super Bowl 45 audience will be large this year with both teams having a large fanbase. Unlike some teams, especially the new teams like the Jaguars, most people across the United States will have an interest in the Super Bowl game this year. The Steelers fanbase is huge, but they have already won 6 Super Bowls. The majority of those that are undetermined of who they would like to see win, will most likely be picking the Packers as their Super Bowl underdog favorite!

The sports collectible business appears to be picking up with the recovery of the ecomony. Yesterday NSD brought 49er Dwight Clark to join Joe Montana, Roger Craig and others to a public event in San Mateo, California. The public was eager, once again, to pay and line up for having their football heroes sign sports memorabilia. It was encouraging to this welcome change. On a side note, a family came to meet Dwight Clark and Joe Montana. The daughter was named Montana and the son was named Clark. The media was there for the introduction of the family.

Super Bowl Footballs are great items to collect for your sports collectible collection. Each year, starting with Super Bowl 20, a special football has been made that is used in the Super Bowl Game. Wilson Sporting Goods is located is based out of Chicago and when the Chicago Bears made it to Super Bowl 20 Wilson Sporting Goods said let's celebrate our local team making the Super Bowl and create a special football to be used in the game.

University of Auburn football player Cam Newton has won the Heisman Trophy. It is great to see that his play on the field has determined that he is a winner. This is the first class of finalists where there were no Seniors represented. It will be interesting to see if any of these finalists will opt for the NFL next year. Personally, I hope that they all stay in college, play for their existing team and graduate. However, one or all of them may be signing NFL sports memorabilia in a few months!
